For more than 40 years, the Silvagni name has been a part of the Carlton vernacular - from 1958, when Sergio made his senior debut, through to Stephen's retirement in September 2001. By the time the sinewy, spring-heeled Stephen turned out for his first senior appearance against the Swans in 1985, the 17-year-old had already inherited the potentially burdensome nickname of Ò S - '96 Ò¯n Of Serge'. But it mattered little for the kid in his old man's No.1 guernsey, who, for the next 17 seasons, eked out his own glorious career - encompassing more than 300 senior appearances, two Grand Final triumphs, and of course wll-Back of the 20th Century status.
