Lights, camera ... kidnap!
Evie is forever crossing swords with her twin. While she practises her after-school fencing, Tallulah is winning movie auditions. Neither of them could have imagined how their worlds would collide, but when Tallulah goes to Hollywood Evie goes too - as her sister's identical stand-in. But that changes, when the film needs some all-action sword-play. Soon Evie's the one enjoying the limelight - that is, until Tallulah goes missing ... An action-packed sibling adventure of twin rivalry, glamour and skulduggery set against the bright lights of Hollywood!
Written by ex-Olympic fencer, Eloise Smith Features a diverse ensemble cast of brave and spirited kids you can't help but root for!
About the Author
Eloise has a bit of a history with swords, particularly stabbing people with swords. Indeed, it is said that she was once an Olympic fencer. Others say she won 3 Commonwealth gold medals at sword-fighting. And there are some who whisper that she could probably kill you in a duel.
Luckily, she has recently discovered the pen is mightier than the sword. Her first book is out this May, published by Chicken House. It stars the sort of swashbuckling action-adventure heroine that she wished she could have read about as a kid.
She read English Language and Literature at St. Edmund Hall, Oxford University, studying terribly fancy grown-up authors like Chaucer, T.S. Eliot and Virginia Woolf. However, really she prefers reading middle-grade fiction. Especially if it features fearless female protagonists and super-evil villains. Perhaps unsurprisingly, she has a shocking author crush on Katherine Rundell and Philip Pullman.
She also works as a creative director in advertising, coming up with marvelously inane concepts for everything from motorbikes to tampons. And when she's not doing that, she's probably at home being bossed about by her one husband, two boys, two pet hamsters and twelve very greedy pet fish.
