Reading Lab 3a helps students build their skills through individual reading practice. High-interest reading selections feature colour-coded levels of graduated difficulty with illustrations or photographs, multilevelled comprehension questions and vocabulary and word study skill exercises.

Reading Lab 3a also includes Skill Builder cards designed to reinforce basic comprehension, phonics, grammar and word study skills and Rate Builder cards designed to help students read faster while maintaining comprehension.

About the SRA Reading Laboratory

Dr. Don H. Parker, who died in 2000, began a reading program with 32 students in Florida, in 1950. Science Research Associates published his materials as the SRA Reading Laboratory, a program now used worldwide.

SRA Reading programs work by color-coding portions of reading materials based on the reading ability level required.

It emphasizes the role of the student in directing his own learning, assessing his own skills as he works his way up through the levels. The age range runs from kindergarten age through to grade 12 and beyond.

McGraw-Hill publishes magazines, journals, and academic and educational resources, including those for the SRA reading programs. The schemes and supporting materials help both children and adults to learn to read or improve their reading skills.
