Stanley's Party

Stanley's people go out a lot. Stanley is a good dog, but one night, while they're away, the temptation becomes too great and he sneaks up onto the couch. What a wonderful experience! Soon he's also blasting the music, dancing around the living room and raiding the fridge. Stanley's never had so much fun! But after a couple of weeks something is missing, and Stanley realises that partying alone has lost its thrill. Ages 3-7 AUTHOR: Linda Bailey is the author of over 18 books for children, including the Stevie Diamond Mysteries series, the Good Times Travel Agency series and Stanley's Party. She is the winner of numerous awards, including the Silver Birch Award, the Red Cedar Award, the Hackmatack Children's Choice Book Award, the B.C. Book Prize and the Arthur Ellis Award from the Crime Writers of Canada. Born in Winnipeg, she traveled around the world in her 20s and then moved to Vancouver, where she earned a Bachelor of Arts and a Masters of Education at the University of British Columbia. Bill Slavin was born February 12, 1959, in Belleville, Ontario, the seventh of eight children. He illustrated his first book, The Adventures of Zok the Caveman, when he was seven. It was published in an edition of one. He has been writing and illustrating ever since. He has illustrated over sixty children's books, fiction and non-fiction, including Stanley's Party by Linda Bailey, winner of the 2004 Blue Spruce Award, the B.C. Book Prize Christie Harris Illustrated Book Award and the Canadian Librarian Association's Amelia Frances Howard Gibbon Illustrator's Medal. Colour illustrations
