About the Author

Alex Palmer is a journalist and excavator of fascinating facts. He has written for Lifehacker, Mental Floss, Smithsonian, Slate, and many other outlets. He has served as an editor of Incentive - a publication on happiness and motivation in the workplace - since 2007.

Palmer is also the author of the New York Times-bestselling The Santa Claus Man: The Rise and Fall of a Jazz Age Con Man and the Invention of Christmas in New York and Literary Miscellany. He is a member of the Society of Professional Journalists and New York City's Deadline Club. He is based in Brooklyn, NY.
