The Basics of Therapeutic Hypnosis

This book is designed for classes to teach hypnosis and for therapists who want to learn about hypnosis. It includes discussions of all the essential elements of therapeutic hypnosis including building rapport, conscious/unconscious dissociation, creating metaphors, the induction sequence, the use of therapeutic trance phenomena, posthypnotic suggestions and the process of ending the hypnotic session. It also includes exercises to practice these skills and gives examples. Finally, it discusses the treatment of chronic pain and phobias/panic attacks.
