The titular 'The Female of the Species' tells of a manipulative woman who dabbled in witchcraft in the hope of living forever through the transmigration of her soul. Killed in a plane crash, her unsuspecting husband begins to find out what kind of a woman she was, and finds his cat gradually changing, becoming more human. (Matthew Johns, Amazon review).
