This book takes you back it the years of Network SouthEast.

On 10 June 1986 the image of the rail network of London and the South East of England was overhauled, officially launched by Chris Green in a blaze of publicity at Waterloo station. Stations were to be upgraded or totally rebuilt, and new ones were going to be added to the network. New rolling stock was to be built to replace the tired and old trains of the South East. Network SouthEast certainly delivered its promises during its short eight-year life.

Here, Mark Battle recalls some personal memories from the NSE era and utilises photographs from his own personal collection, as well as sharing the work of others. Network SouthEast truly changed the way railways were run and operated and laid the foundations for the railway of the present day.
