Stephen Auciello, MD

Dr. Auciello is a family physician who has served as Program Director for the OhioHealth Riverside Methodist Hospital Family Medicine Residency in Columbus Ohio since 2019. He received his medical degree from the West Virginia University School of the Medicine and completed his family medicine residency at OhioHealth Riverside Methodist Hospital Family Medicine. He has served as Medical Director of Community Outreach for OhioHealth and continues to provide care on the Wellness on Wheels mobile primary care mobile unit. He led Riverside Methodist Hospital medical education in AIAMC National Initiative VI: Stimulating a Culture of Well-Being in the Clinical Learning Environment. He has presented nationally on several topics, including physician wellness, mobile underserved primary care, and virtual reality simulation innovation. His passion for teaching lies in the "bread and butter" of family medicine, empowering residents and medical students to be experts in what we see and treat every day. He was awarded the Outstanding Family Physician Award for 2019 by the Ohio University Heritage College of Medicine, in addition to receiving teaching awards both as a resident and faculty member. His interests outside medicine include trail running, Ohio State and Cleveland sports, and spending time with his wife and family.

Laurie Hommema, MD

Dr. Hommema is the Senior Medical Director, Provider and Associate Well-Being, OhioHealth, Associate Program Director, Riverside Family Medicine, OhioHealth, Columbus, OH. Dr. Hommema, received her Bachelors of Science Degree in Microbiology, cum Laude, with Honors, from The Ohio State University. She worked as a microbiologist at Battelle Memorial Institute prior to receiving her Medical Degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine. She completed her Family Medicine Residency at Riverside Methodist Hospital, where she served as Chief Resident and was awarded Resident of the Year in Family Medicine. She joined the faculty as an Assistant Program Director in 2011, was named a New Faculty Scholar by the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine in 2013 and awarded Family Medicine Attending of the Year at Riverside. In 2014, Dr. Hommema assumed the role of Program Director of the Family Medicine Residency and instituted a successful wellness curriculum throughout Graduate Medical Education at Riverside. In 2018 she received an AFMRD national Program Director Recognition Award. In 2018, she became the co-chair of the OhioHealth Resilience Collaborative, pulling together a multi-disciplinary team from across the health system, and in 2019 was named Senior Medical Director, Provider and Associate Well-Being. In this role she develops, leads and executes strategic and operational initiatives to improve well-being at OhioHealth with an initial focus on the clinical community. She is also a co-creator of WE LEAD, an OhioHealth business resource group dedicated to developing female leaders, associates and providers.

Emily Gorman, DO

Dr. Gorman is a family physician at OhioHealth's Riverside Family Medicine Residency Program. She graduated from the University of Dayton with a B.S. in Biology and a minor in Spanish. She then received her medical school degree at Ohio University Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine in Athens, Ohio. She subsequently completed her residency training at Riverside Family Medicine Program. Dr. Gorman's passions within medicine include dermatology in the primary care setting, women's health, and promoting health through osteopathic principles. She has presented nationally on physician wellness as well as dermatology for primary care. Her publications include multiple chapters in the 5-Minute Clinical Consult, an article regarding telemedicine in primary care for the OAFP winter edition, and a letter to the editor in the STFM journal. She is the curriculum lead for dermatology and osteopathic manipulation at Riverside Family Medicine Program. She also participated in the AIAMC National Initiatives VI and VII, working on projects for physician well-being and primary care linkage for pregnant patients receiving MAT for opiate dependence. Her interests outside of medicine include reading historical fiction, hiking, and spending time with her family.

Michael Weinstock, MD

Dr. Weinstock is an emergency medicine physician as well as the Director of Research and CME and the IRB chair at the Adena Medical Center and Professor of Emergency Medicine, Adjunct at the Wexner Medical Center at The Ohio State University. He is the risk management section editor for EM RAP, and the executive editor for the new podcast UC MAX (part of the EM RAP family of products) and has contributed to ERCast, EmCrit, and Risk Management Monthly. He has been the principal investigator for original research published in JAMA IM and Annals of Emergency Medicine and is the risk management section editor for CorePendium and chapter author of chest pain evaluation and EM documentation. He is the author of the Bouncebacks! series of books and, with Scott Weingart and Kevin Klauer, published Bouncebacks! Critical Care in February 2021. Michael has practiced medicine nationally and internationally including volunteer work in Papua New Guinea, Nepal, and the West Indies. Research interests include ED evaluation and management of chest pain, patient safety, EM medical education, and of course, Bouncebacks! The newest book in the series is Bouncebacks! Medical and Legal (July 2024).
