About the Author

A ceramics graduate of the Camberwell School of Arts and Crafts, Richard Phethean is an established professional potter with more than thirty years' experience of teaching pottery. He is a Fellow of the Craft Potters Association and is on the Crafts Council of Great Britain's Index of Selected Makers. For twelve years from 1996, Richard was a visiting staff member in the role of throwing tutor for the Workshop Ceramics degree course at the University of Westminster.

In 2001 Richard was invited to establish a new ceramics facility as Resident Potter at Sibford, a Quaker school on the North Oxfordshire Cotswold borders, where today he continues to develop his work, exhibiting widely in galleries and fairs throughout the UK and Europe.
