About the Author
At the age of 45, after a lifetime of interest in the Titanic story, Simon Medhurst discovered that the history of the famous ship actually ran in his blood when he was reunited with his birth father. He found out that he is, in fact, the great-grandson of Robert Hichens, quartermaster of the Titanic. Hichens was at the helm on that fateful night when the ocean liner struck the infamous iceberg. Simon's amazing discovery is remarkable and has now given a new meaning to his interest and, ultimately, led to the writing of this book.
He has sought to encapsulate the lives and stories of everyone on board the Titanic, including his great-grandfather, for it was truly a night to remember.
