Lincoln T Beauchamp, known artistically as Chicago Beau, was raised in an environment rooted in blues, literature, law, and travel.   An unlikely circumstance provided by his Great Migration, agrarian background parents. He is a musician, writer, publisher, and adventurer. He has published several books, the most recent being BluesSpeak, University of Illinois Press, 2010. He has published over one hundred authors in literary and music magazines, recorded numerous CDs, and is Co-founder of the Chicago Blues Experience museum opening in 2019.  Too Much Unconvenience is a recollection of Beau’s earlier experiences, and confirms his zest for living from an early age.

Industry Reviews

This is a book you should read! Chicago Beau gives us the insight we need to understand the complex relationship of Europe to African American music. He shares his travels, experiences and most importantly the relationships which helped him thrive as an artist. His writing conveys the tribulations of a repressive society and the excitement of a well-lived life.    Scott Cashman, Ph. D., Manager of Personal and Cultural Enrichment, Harper College

Chicago Beau's memoir brings back many fond memories of my Paris musical/multi-cultural adventures of the late 60's and early 70's, a very challenging and exciting period for numerous artists of every creative discipline. Famoudou Don Moye, Sun Percussions, Art Ensemble of Chicago
