About the Author

Robyn Davidson was born in 1950 in a small Queensland country town. She spent fifteen years in Brisbane before moving to Sydney and from there to Alice Springs where the events of this book began. She has travelled extensively throughout the world. Desert Places, an account of her travels with Indian nomads, was published in 1996.
