Typology

Photographer and museologist Diana Zlatanovski explores the museums' storage cabinets to assemble collections of related objects, which she calls typologies. Seeing similar objects in multitudes compels us to study the details of each singular object and how it differs from the last. Through her striking images, Zlatanovski hints at the awe-inspiring collections held within the museums' storerooms and encourages us to look closely and learn more about their significance.

About the Author

Diana Zlatanovski has a background that spans both museology and fine art photography. She is a Collections Steward at Harvard's Peabody Museum of Archaeology and Ethnology and has previously worked with collections at the Museum of Fine Arts in Boston, and Chicago's Field Museum.
