When jaded romance novelist Sawyer and heartbroken heartthrob Mason get stuck in a lift together, they decide to join forces to ruin romance for him, one rom-com trope at a time.

Sawyer Greene is done with romance. Sure she was a bestselling author of the genre - until her college girlfriend broke her heart and left her with nothing but writer's block and bitterness.

So when Sawyer gets stuck in a lift with Mason West she sees it for what it is: a chance encounter with a handsome man she will sleep with exactly once and categorically not a meet-cute. Easy enough.

Until Sawyer bumps into him again. And again. The two decide to take this as a sign from the universe. Obviously they're meant to cure each other: him of his hopeless romanticism, her of her writer's block.

The plan is simple. Sawyer will become the romcom love interest of Mason's dreams, and destroy romance for him one trope at a time.
