A titan of 19th century fantasy literature, George MacDonald also left an astonishing collection of sermons, Unspoken Sermons, which are amongst the finest to be found in the English language. About these sermons, C.S. Lewis wrote: "I know hardly any other writer who seems to be closer, or more continually close, to the Spirit of Christ Himself."
