Look under the flaps and find out what does nature give us. Have you ever wondered, how long does a tree grow before it becomes the chair you're now sitting on? Or how did cow's milk turn into the ice cream that cools you off in summer? Explore the origin of things we use in everyday life.

Have you ever wondered how many of the things around us come from nature? There are so many things, including wooden furniture, metal utensils, beeswax, and bread. We rarely - if ever - think about how difficult all this was to make. How long did a tree grow before it became the chair you're now sitting on? How did a cow's milk turn into the ice cream that cools you off in summertime? This book will show you which materials go into making the stuff we use in our everyday lives. Look beneath the flaps and find out what we're sourcing from the natural world around us.

Selected for the CBC's 2022 August Hot Off The Press Reading List (https://www.cbcbooks.org/cbc-book-lists/august-2022/).

From the team of author Radka Piro and illustrator Anastasiia Moshina, "What Things Come From Nature?" takes a unique and thoroughly kid friendly 'Life the Flap' approach to science that is a deftly mixed blend of science and entertainment. As fun as it is informative, "What Things Come From Nature?" is especially and unreservedly recommended for family, daycare center, preschool, elementary school, and community library science book collections for children ages 3-6. Midwest Book Review, Children's Bookwatch
This interactive board book invites children to explore the items that we source from the natural world around us, from forest to field and the animals and plants that live there. Each section of this brightly illustrated text begins with a two page lift the flap format, and under each flap children find the products derived from that place or animal. Each section highlights the importance of the resources we use to make a variety of foods and products as well as explaining how some of the products are made. The chunky board book format lends itself nicely to helping younger hands to eagerly explore what's under the sturdy flaps as they learn about the natural resources in their world. This format, however, should not deter older elementary children from picking up this book and learning more about the topics. Youth Services Book Review
