Luca’s life is perfect; he has a loving mother, a father he idolizes and a strong bond with his twin sister. But by 15, life as he knows it, is over. He sits in juvenile detention, responsible for the deaths of two people, his family destroyed. This engaging young adult novel addresses themes such as drugs, racism and the idea of self-control.
Based on a real-life story where a 24-year-old Tennessee man was executed for murdering his mother and step-father when he was 13. He had been on drugs and had access to a gun. Perth resident Anne Davies taught English to teenagers for 20 years and found getting teenage boys to read, difficult. So she has written a meaty fiction book for them; a book that has murder, romance and a serious (but not too deep) look at the process someone would go through after murdering two people, at such a young age.

About the Author
Born in Perth, Western Australia, Anne Davies had a rollercoaster of a childhood, which she survived by keeping her (somewhat large) nose firmly in books and extended that early love by later teaching English at high school level. Still married to the boy she met at school at 14, she now has the time to write and aimed “Wrath” at her favorite people – teenagers.

Book Features:
- Quickly engages the reader – no lengthy descriptions, no lengthy chapters, plenty of ongoing action.
- Doesn’t attempt to cater to the reluctant reader by talking down to him/her or by focusing on gross-out jokes or themes which result in a quick laugh but then are forgotten.
- Gets into the things which are important: getting the girl/boy you want to notice and like you, establishing yourself as a person, someone your friends trust and admire, feeling that you are in control of your life, not just at the mercy of the expectations of parents, teachers, your own feelings.
- Points to ways that show you how you can take control of your life, the practice of thinking first, of understanding how emotions can take over your intelligence, of learning how to “take control of the steering wheel of your life” and not allow some else, or something else, to take that from you.
